The footprint for a house, a shop or a barn, plus the drive coming in to it. You end up with open ground to build on and a clear line of sight down the driveway.

Scrub and saplings ground out of a field so grass gets its light back. What comes off stays on the ground as mulch and feeds the dirt instead of riding away in a truck.

How it’s done
Cleared in sections, not all at once
We work a property in pieces so you can see it happening and speak up before something is gone.
Shaun walks the ground with you first and you settle what stays. The hardwood along the drive, the shade over the porch, the cedars on the property line. Those get marked and worked around.
Then it goes in sections. A strip at a time, so you can stand at the edge and see what finished ground looks like before the rest of it comes down. If you want the line moved, say so while it’s still standing.
Everything that comes off gets ground where it stood and left as mulch. No windrow along the fence, no burn pile smoldering for a week, no dump truck back the next morning.

What opens up, what stays, and what you are left standing on.
It is ready for whoever comes next. The growth is gone and the site is open enough to stake out, shoot levels across and see. Footings, pads and drainage are dirt work, and that is a different trade with a different machine. Shaun clears it, then your builder or your dirt man takes it from there.
Low scrub is taken down to the ground as the drum works, so there is little left to catch a boot on. Anything a saw crew felled before you called will still be sitting where they cut it, because pulling those is separate work Shaun doesn’t take on. He’ll point them out on the walk so nobody is surprised later.
Because a field edge and a wooded back corner are two different jobs, and pricing them as one lump hides that. Working in sections lets you see progress, stop where you like, and put the money where it earns most. It also means the first piece is finished and usable while the rest is still standing.
That is a good deal of the work. Overgrown boundaries, cross fences buried in scrub, gates nobody has opened in years. Shaun works alongside the wire rather than into it, and where a fence has already been swallowed he’ll say so before starting so you know what you are getting back.
Grass gets its light back once the scrub is off it, and on ground that used to be grazed a good deal comes on its own. Seeding, liming and a proper renovation are farm work, not clearing work. Shaun will tell you what he thinks the ground will do.
