Clearing a Home Site Out of Heavy Brush
Brush thick enough to hide the building site, opened up to flat, stakeable ground.
This one started as a tangle of brush and undergrowth thick enough that you couldn’t walk the building site, let alone stake it.
We ran the mulching head through it and took the brush and small timber down in one pass. Everything stayed where it fell as mulch instead of going onto a truck or into a burn pile, which meant no disposal cost and no waiting on a permit before the next trade could get in.
What the owners have now is an open, flat site with a clean edge to the woods they wanted kept. The surveyor can see corner to corner, an excavator can get in without fighting brush first, and the mulch layer is holding the soil in place while the site sits.
The next season is when that pays off. Ground that’s covered doesn’t wash, and brush that got ground out at the root doesn’t come back the way cut brush does. That’s one less thing to deal with between now and a foundation.
